At the Highland Camrose Park near the Hollywood Bowl, the programmers devoured Jersey Mike鈥檚 sandwiches to their heart鈥檚 content, taking their sustenance on the park benches. The prefects also presented Abby S. with a chocolate cake for her birthday, and the whole group sang 鈥淗appy Birthday鈥 to her.
Later, the students listened to a under the open sky in the Hollywood Bowl, performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. The first part was Brahms鈥 First Piano Concerto, featuring pianist H茅l猫ne Grimaud, which ended with an applause that echoed throughout the amphitheater. The students got some ice cream during intermission, returning to their seats for a Greig Peer Gynt Suite, conducted by Tabita Berglund. The suite tells the story of a young man who lives an immoral life but eventually attains redemption by returning to the woman who has loved him unconditionally throughout the years.
On the way back to campus, the group prayed the Rosary on the buses. Some students then drifted to sleep, others played music in the background, and a few read Parker鈥檚 Back for this morning鈥檚 class. 鈥淭he community is amazing,鈥 reflected Armando A. 鈥淭he classes, the campus, and the prayer life, too.鈥
