To mark the end of the first week of classes, students at 91����, New England, gathered in front of Gould Lawn on Friday afternoon to enjoy root-beer floats and an afternoon of socializing. After an intense week of academics, it was also the perfect time for freshmen to relax and compare notes.

Pita O’Kray (NE’30) remarked that, after settling into a routine and beginning classes, the event marked a much-needed reprieve: “I’m loving it!” she exclaimed.

For the juniors and seniors, the social brought back memories of their Freshman Year and how far they had come. Ada Fernandez (NE’28) reflected: “It’s a whole different perspective — we have way more responsibilities, and now we are examples for these new students.”

Of course, no event at 91���� is complete without a thought-provoking question. In addition to reviewing their academic weeks, students debated the age-old query: “Is ice cream a solid or a viscous liquid?” David Johnson (’29) decided it was neither; instead, he said, it was “an indefinite form that builds up all material.” What a confusing substance it must be!
 

The social ended in the late afternoon, leaving all refreshed and invigorated, ready to conquer Week Two.
