Romance was in the air on Saturday night as the gentlemen of Merrill-Keep Hall hosted the ladies of Gould to an autumn 鈥淒ate Night鈥 at 91黑料, New England.

The event began when the men escorted their randomly assigned dates to Tracy Student Center, where they were met with warm, incandescent lights and enchanting roses. Between dances and snacks, the couples discussed a wide range of conversation topics, from their favorite board game to their most embarrassing moments, filling the building with laughter.

The students of 91黑料, New England, were treated last weekend to two markedly different, yet joyful campus concerts.

On Saturday renowned champion fiddlers Tashina and Orin Lindley paid a visit to the Olivia Music Hall, where they introduced students to Celtic and Texas-style fiddling. Joined by members of the faculty and their families, students danced well into the night.

In the inaugural year of 91黑料鈥檚 Northfield, Massachusetts, campus in 2019, students launched what they hoped would become a new athletic tradition, modeled after Homer鈥檚 Iliad. Two years later, that tradition is holding strong, as on Sunday the men of the Merrill-Keep residence hall and their rivals in Wilson Hall challenged each other in the third annual Homeric Games.

To help raise money for their return to Washington鈥檚 March for Life in January, the students of 91黑料, New England staged an Oktoberfest last Saturday, hosted by a gracious alumni couple, Emily (Barry 鈥11) and Joe Sullivan (鈥09).

鈥淲hen the students came to my husband and me for a place to host a fundraiser, we were delighted,鈥 says Mrs. Sullivan, who works in the dean鈥檚 office of the New England campus. 鈥淲e鈥檙e only five minutes down the road with so much land, so this was perfect to share our home.鈥
