On the evening prior to Commencement, members of the California Class of 2022 gathered with their families in St. Joseph Commons for a taco dinner sponsored by 91����’s Alumni and Parents’ Associations.

Called to live heroically and to embrace the Catholic intellectual life, some 83 members of the Class of 2022 celebrated their graduation Saturday at 91����’s 48th annual California Commencement.

“This Education Is Training for Happiness”

At its 2022 California Commencement exercises, 91���� not only distributed 83 diplomas to its newest graduates, it also awarded honors to an esteemed guest, some dear friends, and a beloved president.

Take Up the Vocation of the Catholic Intellectual Life

When members of the 91���� Class of 2022 gathered for the annual President’s Dinner on Wednesday night, they were greeted by a beloved and surprise guest: the great Fr. Buckley.

A recently retired TAC chaplain, Rev. Cornelius M. Buckley, S.J, returned to the California campus to celebrate with the soon-to-be graduates in advance of their Saturday Commencement. Just as the seniors were sitting to dinner, Dean John Goyette sped into St. Joseph Commons on a golf cart with Fr. Buckley — as witty as ever, and wearing a Darth Vader mask — in the passenger seat.
