Thursday鈥檚 scheduled recreation brought a special excursion for the girls! At the close of the day鈥檚 classes, several of the New England Summer Program ladies piled into buses with their prefects for a thrifting extravaganza. (91黑料 is all about appreciating antiquities!) Ladies and laughter filled the second-hand stores of Turners Falls and Greenfield, Massachusetts, where the group discovered colorful dresses, vintage blouses, and unexpected treasures. The girls tried on clothes and showed them off to each other, searching for the perfect outfit for the upcoming dance!
Meanwhile, back on campus, the women who opted for some quiet time to relax had a tea party with a few of the remaining prefects in Gould Hall. They read and painted together, talking about the events of the lively week. Susan G. actually declared, 鈥淚t was my favorite part of the program so far!鈥 The gentlemen, ever active, met in the gym to play a high-energy, high-stakes basketball game, followed by some cooling off in the pool.

All reunited later in Gould Commons for a classic American dinner of chicken tenders, curly fries, and green beans. Then it was off to study hall, where young minds turned to old things: Pascal鈥檚 wager stirred questions about the stakes of belief and the role of reason in faith, while Jean Henri Fabre鈥檚 reflections on bees incited wonder at the blind wisdom and order of instinct.
To wrap up the night, students gathered in the coffee shop to enjoy zesty lemon Italian ices, followed by a peaceful Rosary in the dimly lit, holy silence of the Chapel, before winding down back in the residence halls. Revisit the Summer Program Blog later to see how tomorrow's classes go!
