Hushed voices and rustling pages are usually the only sounds to be heard in St. Bernardine of Sienna Library, but on the first Sunday of May, the whole building echoed with singing. TAC-California’s Chrysostomos, a student-led choral group, performed its annual spring concert, and the acoustics of the high ceilings made the library an ideal venue. The concert not only highlighted the impressive musical talent of choir’s 17 members, but celebrated Chrysostomos’s anniversary, marking 20 years of its bringing beautiful sacred music to the College community. 

Directed by senior Anthony Santine (’25), Chrysostomos shared a collection of hymns, polyphony, folk songs, and spirituals with the audience, captivating listeners with its polished performance. Assistant Director Sasha Lassard (’26), who will be taking over as director of the choir next year, directed one of the pieces, Sicut Cervus. 

In addition to losing Anthony, Chrysostomos is also saying goodbye to Gus Seeley (’25), Teresa Padilla (’25), and Patrick Murphy (’25), who also graduate this spring. After the time and effort they have spent bringing beauty to the College through their voices, their musical talents will be missed!
