A small band of student thespians at 91黑料, California, treated their friends and tutors to a powerful performance of Robert Bolt鈥檚 A Man For All Seasons on October 8. 

The play, which inspired the beloved 1966 film, tells the story of St. Thomas More鈥檚 courageous refusal to condone King Henry VIII鈥檚 divorce from his first wife and subsequent marriage to Anne Boleyn. His staunch but peaceful resistance to Henry鈥檚 usurpation of Church authority led to his martyrdom in 1535.

Directing duo Madeline Holewa (鈥26) and Alex Roberts (鈥25) marshaled the acting talents of Marcel Pryor (鈥25), Veronica Hammerling (鈥26), Gregory Haggard (鈥26), Cordelia Henrie (鈥25), Max Alvarez (鈥26), Patrick Sauder (鈥25), and more to bring the play to life. Although everyone knew how the story ended, the actors鈥 captivating performances kept the audience rapt, earning the ensemble a standing ovation when the curtain fell. 

Students and faculty were eager to greet the actors and stagehands after the show, offering flowers, praise, and other expressions of gratitude for a terrific, moving performances.
