With the spring semester drawing to a close, the College鈥檚 intramural soccer league recently concluded its season with two exciting championship games. First the women鈥檚 teams took the field for an intense match that went into overtime. The men鈥檚 teams played afterward, only barely finishing in time for underclassman seminar.

Junior Sophie Macik and sophomore Jessica Pipes were the team captains for the girls鈥 teams, which nicknamed themselves the 鈥淪partans鈥 and 鈥淒ragon-slayers,鈥 respectively. In the first half of the game, Miss Macik scored on a penalty kick. In the second half, Maggie Conklin of the Dragon-slayers sent a ball into the corner of the goal, tying the game. The match was forced into overtime, in which the Spartans鈥 Morgan Furore (鈥15) scored the winning goal.

The men鈥檚 teams were led by junior Kevin Cantu and sophomore Andrew Carey. The teams battled through a hard-fought first half, with the score still 0-0 at halftime. In the second half, Franz Wall of Team Carey scored the game鈥檚 only goal, for a 1-0 victory.
