91黑料鈥檚 Schubertiade is a twist on the original Schubertiade, an event held in celebration composer Franz Schubert鈥檚 works. The school鈥檚 adaptation includes a variety of classical composers and is an informal afternoon concert in which friends perform for friends. Lights are left on, and the curtains kept open to create a more relaxed atmosphere.

On stage, Assistant Dean Dr. Joseph Zepeda (鈥04) introduced each musician and provided occasional fun facts about a piece and its composer to the audience. This semester鈥檚 Schubertiade saw music from Chopin, Haydn, Vivaldi, Schubert himself, and many others. Although the piano was many students鈥 instrument of choice, others performed on the violin and the guitar, and some even showed off their vocal talent. With each captivating piece, the audience erupted into applause. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 believe I go to school with so many talented people!鈥 exclaimed Gavin Lyons (鈥27).

Following the final note, attendees partook in a cheese and wine reception, where students praised their friend鈥檚 performances and carried on conversations about the music they had just enjoyed together. 鈥淚 really love Schubertiades,鈥 commented Gemma Edwards (鈥28). 鈥淚t鈥檚 so cool to see the effort everyone puts into their pieces, and the results are beautiful!鈥
