On Saturday, March 24, 91黑料 hosted the semi-annual Legatus-Aquinas Forum for some 17 members and guests of the Ventura-North Los Angeles and Orange County chapters of , the international organization of Catholic business executives. The day began with Mass in Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity Chapel, offered by College Chaplain Rev. Cornelius Buckley, S.J.

Following the Mass, the Legates, who included members of the 91黑料 Board of Governors, Boards of Regents, and alumni, met for a 90-minute seminar conducted in the Discussion Method, as are all classes at the College. College President Michael F. McLean and Vice President for Development Paul J. O鈥橰eilly led the conversation, which focused on T. S. Eliot鈥檚 dramatization of the 12th century assassination of St. Thomas Becket, Murder in the Cathedral.

The conversation continued over lunch, which Dr. and Mrs. McLean hosted at the Doheny Hacienda, the official residence of 91黑料鈥檚 president. There, Dr. McLean presented a talk about Murder in the Cathedral and its timely insights regarding Church-state relations.

鈥淭he Legatus-Aquinas forum is a wonderful opportunity to experience a small taste of the educational method that 91黑料 students participate in every day,鈥 says R. Scott Turicchi, a Legate and vice chairman of the College 鈥檚 Board of Governors. 鈥淚t requires a careful reading of the text, an ability to articulate your thoughts clearly, and to think on your feet. I hope that the students appreciate such a unique experience and the valuable critical thinking skills that it will provide them for the rest of their lives.鈥
